Just Putting This Out There.....

In our Relief Society Board Meeting on Sunday morning, we came up with a great plan to go along with our next Enrichment Night. Our lesson on Sunday was Dallen Oaks talk: Good, Better and Best, from October Conference, with a challenge to make better use of all of our time.

We have asked anyone who wants to to accept the challenge of going on a Media Fast, to do it for ONE Week. May 10-17, and see what that does for your family. So no TV, No Talk Radio, No Computers, except for work or Homework. You may listen to good music. We also asked the sisters to try and have a sit down dinner each night with the entire family also.

There are a few who have accepted the challenge and I know for our family it will be difficult. We may have to break it to watch some baseball games together as a family. So there it's out there for all to partake of. Lets all at least consider it and see what happens.

But what would my other Bargain Moms do? They DEPEND on me! I could easily go without everything else. In fact, lately TV just annoys me.

That is your job, you can still do your job:)

I love No Media Week! We don't really watch t.v. here much, or listen to the radio, but it would be nice for Vance to put his cell phone down for a minute and talk to us! I think it is easier to be successful without kids. I'm misunderstanding the baseball games though, we have a lot of them that week and we can't let the team down.

Mother, I'm already ahead of your game. :) I even had 8 hours to myself today (suprise!) and guess what I did? I read a book. :) Sisters, don't hate. :) haha

Okay I take that back. I did blast the music in my car because it was GORGEOUS tonight and i was in the greatest mood ever so i sang really loud by myself in my car. HOWEVER, I haven't listened to music in my car for over a week now. I'd say i'm justified. :)
I could get rid of my computer once school is out though. but that's school. And the blogging. okay. the blogging i check about 2-3 times a day. I get bored.

No you do all the regular stuff on your agenda, and Deanna you can still do your bargain mom's that's you "job". It all really boils down to what do you do in your "Free" time. The mindless things that we do each day. It is to really get people to talk to their families and stop being so isolated in their own lives. Texting for one family will be hard, while no hand held computers will be a trial for another. As for the baseball games, I was talking about the Diamondback games for our family. Watching them with Dad in the same room and him not being able to channel surf could be very hard for him. You still do those things that are on your schedules, and go on with your life as normal, just don't have the radio on while driving there, and really talk to each other.
